Vice President Richard Cheney, Federal Law Enforcement Luncheon, November 22, 2013

Lilia:
November 22, 2013
Recent news headlines underscore once again, the danger law enforcement officers face everyday.  Last week's tragedy in Los Angeles left a widow and three small children in a matter of seconds. And yet, these dedicated professionals carry on day after day, year after year risking their very lives to protect us.

I hope you will join me November 22, 2013 at the annual Federal Law Enforcemnet Foundation Luncheon to honor and support the families of these heroes.

46_Dick_Cheney_3x4This year's Luncheon features a great friend of the law enforcement community, former Vice President Richard Cheney.  The Vice Presidenet, along with New York's own Police Commissioner Ray Kelly will headline the luncheon along with law enforcemnet officers from around the Country and the world.

The Federal Law Enforcement Foundation (FLEF) was established in 1988 by a group of concerned business leaders who recognized that, despite contribution law enforcement agents make to our quality of life, their economic protection is wholly inadequate in the face of disaster.

The Foundation was originally formed to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation by providing financial support to the families of FBI agents killed in action. The Foundation now provides financial assistance to all federal and local law enforcement agencies.

So I hope you will join me.  I have reserved a number of tables up front, and if you will let me know when you purchase a $500 individual ticket, I will make sure we sit together.  Tables also start at $5000 each.

I look forward to seeing you.  This is a small price to pay for our security and I hope you will join me and bring others.

Sincerely,

Doodles for Hunger, hosted by John and Margo Catsimatidis, November 7, Chelsea Piers

Dear Lilia
                                                                                November 2013

Over the years, Margo and I have become more and more concerned about children and their families who are suffering during these times of high unemployment and rising cost of living here in the City.

The St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters is one of the largest providers of food and  clothing for poor families in New York, serving thousands of suffering families, and we are very  pleased to support this fine organization of the Capuchin Fathers.

In past years, Margo and I have hosted the "Doodles for Hunger" auction at the Chelsea piers.  This great event offers doodles and artwork from hundreds of artists and celebrities who have contributed their handiwork to fight poverty.

Example items here: Celebrity Doodles

It is a fun filled cocktail party, not a sit down dinner, of movie, stage and TV stars, politicians and New York City characters... all to combat human suffering.  Gloria Gaynor and Constantine Maroulis will be our special musical guests of honor at this year's Doodle For Hunger XIV!  Besides the auction, there are a variety of support levels from $500 up to $25000.  I know you will not go home empty handed.  Individual tickets are $300.

We hope you will join us November 7th at the Chelsea Piers on West 23rd street.  It is a very entertaining night and all for the best cause.

Please let us know if you would like more information and we hope to see you then.

Together, we are going to stop the 91st Street Dump. David Garland, your City Council

david-garland-logo-copy

Lilia
    October 23, 2013

Together, we are going to stop the 91st Street Transfer Station.

Our ranks are growing in opposition every
day.  Just this morning, former Governor Mario Cuomo joined our coalition saying NO!

This morning I released a humorous video regarding this serious subject.

Enjoy the video, but make no mistake about it: there is nothing funny about the threat of the Dump to our health, our children and our community.

We are going to stop it!

Join the fight. Vote Dump the Dump. Vote David Garland.

Thank you.
